ot afraid of a lit­tle lus­ter, fringe, and sheen, menswear designer Dim­itri Stavrou made a splash at the Lon­don Col­lege of Fash­ion MA 2009 show. The Cyprus native, who now resides in Lon­don was inspired by the mytho­log­i­cal term “Dae­mon”. The term describes “the ill doings of mankind and war­riors.” Work­ing within this frame­work, Stavrou worked with exper­i­men­tal fab­rics such as Car­bon Fibre to cre­ate a dark but dar­ing col­lec­tion. At times, the fringe is a lit­tle much, but in the begin­ning of a bud­ding career, it is excit­ing to see the explo­ration of details in lieu of the dreaded con­ven­tional design box.
