Kar­lota Las­palas is a Span­ish designer from Barcelona. For her fall 2009 col­lec­tion enti­tled “Wood Do Wow”, Las­palas seeks to reclaim the beauty of sim­plic­ity and a cer­tain nat­u­ral­ness. Drawn to earthy col­ors and the imper­fec­tions of nature, Las­palas drapes loose mono­chro­matic num­bers that have ample space for liv­ing. While high waist pants are over­size and cinched at the waist, the dress shirt is revamped for a min­i­mal yet intrigu­ing sil­hou­ette that falls in line with the col­lec­tion’ many inte­grable sep­a­rates. Slouchy and con­vey­ing a worn-​​in feel, Las­palas deliv­ers a col­lec­tion that is as styl­ish as it is comforting.
