Kilian Kerner is known for their luxe appeal and their fall 2010 presentation is no different. Set against a rich environment, Felix Schopgens luxuriates in a sea of intensive patterns and fabrics that later take to the a wide array of separates from accessories to shirting.

Titled “Tagebucheinträge” or Diary Entries in English, Kilian Kerner’s spring 2010 collection is inspired by five anonymous diary entries. The result is a thoughtful collection that has both strong and sensitive attributes. The collection gains its strength by use of Kerner’s close attention to detail. Overall, the garments are kept modest and minimal. However, the minute areas often overlooked are thought of as important and highlighted. Honing in on the ideal silhouette, Kerner succeeds with the use of small, but sharp lapels, zippers and darts. The elements work in harmony to marry the ideas of modernity and practicality. Finally, bringing a gentle calm and elegance to the collection is its iridescent qualities. The sheen acts as a catalyst for emotion. While the silhouette presents a strong representation of Kerner’s man, the sheen brings his heart to the surface for a softened, more relaxed outing.
German designer, Kilian Kerner adopted a boxing motif for his latest collection, resulting in an excellent balance of formal wear and athletic-inspired apparel. Notable is the tracksuit-inspired tuxedo shirt.
Kilian Kerner is the self-titled line out of Germany. Kerner was studying drama before he was struck by the fashion bug in 2004. Since, Kerner has created a menswear and womenswear line. Approaching menswear, Kerner is known for borrowing from the womens’ silhouette, yet finding a balance between femininity and masculinity. The touch of femininity is most prominent in Kerner’s dream-like draping of light-weight materials on pieces that best fit the male form. This balance creates a striking yet soft line.
