Antwerp-based fashion label, Maison Vandenvos recently headed out to Los Angeles to shoot their spring 2009 lookbook. Turning what started as a lookbook into a luxury book titled, “A Day in L.A.”, French photographer François Rousseau shot Edilson Nascimento and other models at the LA Sheats/Goldstein residence. The atmosphere of the shoot represents a deep yearning of Vandenvos owner, Roger Elsten to create a collection inspired by the seventies, drawing from “every possible characteristic, shape and colour.” Prints of every color and size pay homage to a decade of glamor when film divas like La Belle Brigitte, Sophia Loren and Romy Schneider strolled the beach. The seventies inspiration is so strong that a restored seventies office building will act as the Maison Vandenvos’ new headquarters.
