Antwerp-​​based fash­ion label, Mai­son Van­den­vos recently headed out to Los Ange­les to shoot their spring 2009 look­book. Turn­ing what started as a look­book into a lux­ury book titled, “A Day in L.A.”, French pho­tog­ra­pher François Rousseau shot Edil­son Nasci­mento and other mod­els at the LA Sheats/​Goldstein res­i­dence. The atmos­phere of the shoot rep­re­sents a deep yearn­ing of Van­den­vos owner, Roger Elsten to cre­ate a col­lec­tion inspired by the sev­en­ties, draw­ing from “every pos­si­ble char­ac­ter­is­tic, shape and colour.” Prints of every color and size pay homage to a decade of glamor when film divas like La Belle Brigitte, Sophia Loren and Romy Schnei­der strolled the beach. The sev­en­ties inspi­ra­tion is so strong that a restored sev­en­ties office build­ing will act as the Mai­son Van­den­vos’ new headquarters.
