A Moment for Relaxation–Leaving the maniac pacing of previous seasons behind, Patrik Ervell hits the catwalk for spring’s collection. Taking his inspiration from New York City, Ervell finds a little grit in his well-manicured man. Letting out his silhouettes and gravitating away from strictly tailored wears, the designer appeases the man of leisure with a glimmer of relaxed shirting, trousers and outerwear. But not one to travel too far away from his mainstay, the outing returns to the treasured suit with a neutral array of sharp jackets, accented with shirting options in an enchanting watercolor print.

Patrik Ervell may have his young men clearly defined in a neat package, but that did not deter the models backstage from abandoning their characters for an impromptu photo-op with Shannon Sinclair. Cautious of a runway made from Financial Times that wore away as the show progressed, Ervell’s man took a step back with a modest proposal for the season. Following an exploration of innovative fabrics and imaginative silhouettes, Patrik Ervell returned to the label’s core with a tightly reigned in lineup of his signature suiting and sportswear. Revolving around a streamlined tale of menswear with an eternal spirit of youth, Ervell took to the season with a pure vision that poked fun with the unexpected, whether it was a soundtrack of rap or an obvious symbol with no meaning.

Patrik Ervell opens up his penchant for minimalist design to a wider audience with the release of his webstore. As Ervell expressed to WWD, “Certain brands are more suited for this than others, and I think mine really is perfectly matched for it because my aesthetic has always been modern, and there’s no more modern presentation than an online store. It might be more challenging if you’re aspiring to an old-timey feeling. And I already see my consumer as a guy who’s buying primarily online. He’s not spending his weekends shopping. We already did a significant direct-to-consumer business just from our customers reaching out to us, and this is a logical next step.” View the new webstore here.
