QED Pour Homme Fall 2009

A WELL DONE is due to Berlin design­ing trio, Julia Böge, Simona Gabrieli and Jas­min Moal­lim. In about three short years, the trio’s black dot­ing label, QED has gar­nered inter­na­tional atten­tion and suc­cess. For the lat­est col­lec­tion, Böge, Gabrieli, and Moal­lim pre­sented dur­ing Lon­don Fash­ion Week as part of On|Off Presents. On|Off is a spe­cial show­case for an inter­na­tional audi­ence of press and buy­ers. Its goal is to “uniquely [bridge] the gap between on and off sched­ule design­ers” like QED. Fall 2009 has been a run­way sea­son plagued with black, yet QED’s dark show­ing can still be appre­ci­ated. Where oth­ers use black as an ele­ment of safety, QED uses the color to high­light their close atten­tion to tai­lor­ing. Focus­ing on con­struc­tion, the cut, shape, tex­ture, and over­all pro­por­tion is what makes QED a label to watch.

QED Pour Homme Spring 2009

Infus­ing tra­di­tional menswear pieces with their point of view, while pay­ing close atten­tion to tai­lor­ing, in one sea­son, QED has taken their label from high-​​end street to ultra chic. Founded in 2006 by Julia Böge, Simona Gabrieli and Jas­min Moal­lim, “Quod Erat Demon­stran­dum, short­ened to QED” is based out of Berlin. The three design­ers met while in school and instantly bonded over their love for the color black, but also appre­ci­ated each oth­ers dif­fer­ences. “Due to the three per­son­al­i­ties work­ing on the col­lec­tions, QED cre­ates a unique mix­ture between min­i­mal­ism and play­ful­ness, exquis­itely detailed, sub­tly extrav­a­gant, yet very wear­able and high in qual­ity.“
