Swedish designer Rickard Lindqvist never fails in delivering a charming collection of not only personality, but quality. Inhibiting a space that fuses classic tailoring with both unconventional and standard style directions that challenge the norm, the designer pushes forward with ease and finesse. Next year’s spring season is no different. In a smart cheeky turn, Lindqvist takes contemporary menswear and gives it an update in proportions. The suit is made fresh as cropped trousers rise higher and shirts take the path less traveled – exploring an extreme range of various size as part of a scale-try out project. However, where the collection’s personality really jumps into hyper drive is in its use of floral prints. Inspired by botanist Carl von Linné, the lively floral prints add adventure to conservative suiting, while also resulting in the collection’s most jovial piece – its signature jumpsuit. All in all, Lindqvist rounds out another season providing a well encompassing collection for those who want safe long-term choices as well as the daredevils who crave some form of adventure.

For his most recent photo exhibition, Rickard Lindqvist reached out to his customers to see how his clothes function in their daily lives. The result is a look at the favorite pieces of nine customers. View the exhibition by clicking here.
Swedish designer, Rickard Lindqvist takes a woodland-inspired approach for fall 2009. The collection bares an earth-toned color palette and the fits are wide-ranged from tapered to relaxed. The highlight of this collection is Linqvist’s work with knits. He takes basic pieces like the coat and incorporates knitwear attributes as an accent. Overall, the collection provides for a stylish look, but without the look of effort.

What: Switch out the jeans and traditional trousers. This season is all about mixing it up. With a new collision of materials, silhouettes, and a splash of color, nothing is off limits. Be on the look out for tapered sweats, excessive pleating, and relaxed loose fits.
With: Focus on your overall silhouette. If going with a super relaxed bottom, bring the top half in and make it slim. If you’re working with tapered bottoms, the options are endless depending on your individual style. Keep it slim, but not as narrow as your bottom or wear exaggerated portions; skinny bottom, oversized top.
