Collaborating with the CFDA, GQ is back with its award for the Best New Menswear Designer in America. The finalists, selected by GQ creative director Jim Moore and Damien Nunes include Robert Geller, Alex Carleton of Rogues Gallery, David Mullen of Save Khaki, Andre Benjamin of Benjamin Bixby, Yigal Azrouël, and Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos of Shipley & Halmos. On February 11, 2009, each of the designers will present looks from their fall 2009 collection to be judged by a panel of fashion insiders that include “GQ’s editor Jim Nelson, CFDA executive director Steven Kolb and designer Thom Browne.” The winner will receive $50,000. This time around, Bloomingdale’s and Levi’s have signed on as sponsors. The winner will also have the opportunity to create a capsule collection for Levi’s. The capsule collection will be previewed in September and then be sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s before being made available on Levi’s web store. [Fashion Week Daily]

Selectism was kind enough to report on the new spring collection from Rogues Gallery. The new collection is representative of the nautical community of Portland, Maine. Expect a lot of navy blue and chunky, but light cable knit sweaters.

The holidays are here and there is no reason why your home should be any less fashionable than you. Enter Rogues Gallery with their limited collection of hand-made stockings now available at Blackbird. Each stocking is unique and made of scraps from old collections and vintage materials. The stockings are currenly available for phone order or in-store at Blackbird.
I like the rugged feel of the Rogues Gallery fall 2008 collection. The collection is comprised of simple “go to” pieces for those cold days. I like the large buttons on the jacket in the top right picture and how it is belted. If you like scarves, I definitely suggest adding a Rogues Gallery one to your collection. They are extremely large making endless tying possibilities. Rogues Gallery also makes quality flannel shirts. No winter wardrobe is complete without one!
