founded in 2006, avant-garde romanian label rozalb de mura presents for spring 2010 a conceptual collection designed by olah gyarfas … entitled “véráztatta maradványok — solyomkő” (the remains). the collection is composed of two theatrical monochromatic red head-to-toe silhouettes (one for boys and one for girls), each one of them deconstructing and reconstructing into a multitude of different outfits from a primitive, tribal air to complicatedly royal volumes thanks to a knotting system …

Romanian designer, Oláh Gyárfás’s fictional character Rozalb de Mura is constantly traveling the world in search of “interesting destinations and charismatic people.” This season, Rozalb de Mura’s travels have brought him to London for On|Off Presents. The quiet occasion is marked by a somber ash gray with minimalist details. The subtle changes that do occur in shape, play with notions of gender. Broad, Frankenstein like shoulders highlight a hyper masculine element, while ruffles lend a certain femininity. Overall, Gyárfás presents a monochromatic world so stunning in its simplicity and attention to detail, that choice of color is not an issue.
Rozalb de Mura is the fictional character created by Oláh Gyárfás to encompass his Romanian label. “Wrapped in mystery, Rozalb de Mura travels around the world and chooses interesting destinations and charismatic people to keep him delightful company. Boundaries between reality and fiction imperceptibly dissolve…” Gyárfás graduated from West University, Faculty of Arts in 2001 and after working as a fashion designer for Heretique and Wanguardia, he began his line in 2005. In his line, Gyárfás mixes “reality with fiction, [and] masculine with feminine”. He maintains the standard for minimalism, yet still nourishes an acuteness for details.
