Shake Appeal Fall 2010

Fall 2009 | Shake Appeal

In one short sea­son, Thailand-​​based label Shake Appeal has grown sig­nif­i­cantly in point of view, leav­ing behind a reliance on quirk, instead opt­ing for a matured street appeal. The evo­lu­tion of Shake Appeal is quite fit­ting tak­ing into account this season’s vehi­cle of inspi­ra­tion. The lat­est col­lec­tion enti­tled “Dar­win and the Bea­gle” is inspired by Charles Darwin’s 1831 jour­ney on board the actual ves­sel. It is dur­ing this same jour­ney that Dar­win wrote “The Ori­gins of Species.” Fur­ther­ing the idea of Dar­win as muse, Shake Appeal’s fall col­lec­tion pro­gresses from sim­ple tees and pants to more aggres­sive nylon num­bers that evoke the image of a hunt. From highly coor­di­nated ensem­bles to the bare essen­tials, Shake Appeal is on point with the times and pro­gress­ing at a won­der­ful rate.

“Shaking” — Shake Appeal Spring 2009

Thailand-​​based label Shake Appeal is best described as com­fort­able, “wear­able, mod­ern, and happy.” Behind the label is Chanachai Ohpanayikool, who stud­ied in Lon­don at Insi­ti­tuto Marangoni. After return­ing to Bangkok, Shake Appeal was launched. As evi­denced by their spring show­ing, Shake Appeal is a quirky label that blends inno­cent fun with fash­ion. The spring col­lec­tion works with sev­eral mono­chro­matic themed pieces, but still remains youth­ful, embrac­ing bright col­ors, above the knee shorts, color block­ing, and fash­ion­able sweats.  Book­ing your ticket to Bangkok about now?
