Leaving behind the beachside atmosphere of last season, Victor Glemaud looks to the slopes for inspiration this season. Despite bundling his man in semi-baggy sweats and knits, Glemaud cannot resist but show a little skin with casual cotton shorts. Adding a little camp as always, Glemaud delivers another high-spirited collection that offers its fair share of the practical and downright quirky.

Victor Glemaud’s fall collection was about somber colors and the gradual unraveling of clothes. The collection was well-done, but it is relief to see Glemaud return to bright poppy colors for spring. This season, Glemaud’s signature knits take a backseat to collaborative pieces. Spawning a great selection of swimming trunks in both vibrant and pastel colors, Glemaud has joined up with Quicksilver as well as Gitman Bros. for shirts and Mackintosh for coats. With all these collaborations on hand, it is nice to see such a talented designer be presented with the opportunity to grow their business.

Knitwear royal, Victor Glemaud is the center of attention for Contributing Editor’s latest spread photographed by Barnaby Roper. Victor Glemaud is known for his knits and use of bright colors. This fall season, he shocked everyone by toning down his color palette. Instead of falling back on his love for color, Glemaud adorns his usual slim silhouette with “moth-eaten” holes, gold buttons, and simple patterns. Hopefully, color returns in full force for the spring collection, but when it comes to knitwear and Glemaud, it is difficult to be disappointed.
