Cheap Monday’s Alter Ego
This spring, Swedish label, Cheap Monday is releasing a new line for the United States. The new line is named WKND and bares dark roots. Working with photographs of typhoons, designer Peter Jansson used prints to stimulate the effects of destruction.
The line will launch at the new Los Angeles concept store named Choose Chinatown. In addition to WKND, the store will also carry Cheap Monday’s other lines, Kostym and L.L. Vintage. “The store’s concept embodies the notion of choice in fashion and in commerce to adapt to economic changes as well as cultural shifts, and to be nimble enough to navigate uncertain times.” The store will change its theme every two seasons.
Choose Chinatown opens Friday, February 13, 2009.
