Model of the Month | Will Lewis by Steven Chu

Pho­tog­ra­pher Steven Chu shares a recent shoot he did with Will Lewis that includes two out­takes. Set in New York, Chu wanted to explore the “idea of end­ing – things end­ing, peo­ple end­ing. There’s a sort of peace to it after the ten­sion.” Inten­tion­ally hid­ing visu­als that would indi­cate the shoot’s actual loca­tion, Chu aimed for a more abstract shoot, where Will worked out great. Accord­ing to Chu, “Will was great because he brought a lot” leav­ing them with less to say them­selves. The “shoot only works with Will – swap it with any other guy and visu­ally it [would] take on a com­pletely dif­fer­ent meaning.”
