One Step to Tomorrow–Pringle of Scotland designer Alistair Carr set his sights on an easy mode for the fall/winter 2012 season. Peppered with the occasional print, the collection became largely about those essential separates to survive the season, but with style. Mixing the label’s knack for knits with impressive outerwear, the range served as the perfect blueprint to the season. Whether it is in the vibrant evening lights of blue and red or in the charcoal asphalt, Giornetti masters a strong color palette, creating a sharp wardrobe of suiting, outerwear and accessories. From intricate prints that entice to the smart double breasted blazer or the allure of velvet, Salvatore Ferragamo’s fall/winter 2012 collection finds impeccable lines and classicism at its best.

The Don of the Season–Layered in lush knits and grand outerwear, the man of Les Hommes makes his way back to the catwalk. Following a cultured getaway, color, print and volume paint an image of refinement with a daring undertone. While leather garments contribute to a modern hard streak, softness is delivered in the form of sweaters in vibrant hues. Relating the tension of fit and volume, large oversize sleeves taper for a distinct visage. Meanwhile, trousers are tapered and relaxed for the appropriate note to an eclectic collection that seamlessly juxtaposes fine suiting with charming knitwear.

The Business of Style–Ermenegildo Zegna tackles the wardrobe of the professional for the fall/winter 2012 season. From board meeting to impromptu plane flight, an evening out or even the slopes on vacation, Zegna’s man is ready for any occasion. While suiting dressed in a Prince of Wales print finds a classic streak with strong lines, essentials like the trench are updated with soft leather accents and an oversize silhouette. Honing in on the details, trousers with the cuff turned up reveal a printed lining that reinforces the collection’s fine attention to style. As jackets are prepared for the cold with quilting, chic numbers like a loosely cut cape jacket resonate well with Ermenegildo Zegna’s man who transverses the path between steadfast tradition and playful modernity.
