This past Saturday, we hosted a day of faces, both new and established for a class photo of sorts. Donning a double breasted blazer from Diwon Man and a modest shirt from Hyden Yoo, the models each sat for a brief session with Steven Chu before making a dash to castings for the upcoming fashion week.
Over the course of fashion week, we’ll provide a closer look at this season’s class as each model reveals their secret for surviving an endless amount of castings.

Cavalli Class taps Arthur Sales for spring’s modest campaign. Featuring a collection driven by intensive prints, the clothes make for quite the statement this campaign season.

Following a surprisingly demure spring 2011 campaign, Dsquared² delivers the unexpected for their fall 2011 collection. Dressing their latest designs in somber colors and approaching the season with a more serious flair, Dan and Dean Caten create a strong character with western influences. Topped off with a hat, fall’s lineup comes together with Dsquared²’s signature distressed denim and leather trousers. Mixing casual elements with the formality of overcoats, elongated proportions and the ruggedness of apron-inspired separates, Dsquared² prompts a smart season driven by strong designs that solidifies a new chapter for the label.

On the hunt, Moncler Gamme Bleu brought its usual athleticism to the table with a generous serving of plaid and the season’s hottest new commodity – a basset hound. When not playing it safe with hues of black and brown, the collection felt extremely festive with red as well as green. Composing this season’s uniforms, shorts, boots and quilted apparel made quite the statement while proportions played to a practical sense for a change.

Glossing over fall and heading into a cold winter, Corneliani ensured that their man was bundled in layers to combat the cold. Embracing elements, ranging from a sartorial calling and relaxed military motif to a slope-ready turn in fashion, the label braced itself with a color palette derived from nature. Shifting from dark to light, the collection experienced a strong showing with double breasted blazers, robe-cut outerwear and endearing knits that managed to find a certain cohesiveness felt in domineering fashions.

Embracing fiery red and rich furs for their fall 2011 collection, Dolce & Gabbana infused their prized Italian machismo with a youthful zest. Shaking up their usual casting with a variety of faces, the designing duo put on display a myriad of influences. From the classic musical styling of Bryan Ferry to the label’s ongoing fascination with the working man or a spunky take on tomorrow’s scholar, Dolce & Gabbana impressed with velvet, color and an endless amount of charm. Rounding out the collection with pinstripes, braces and wingtips, the label put a cool new spin on the marriage of old and new style motifs.
