While a downside to getting booked with other models may be less shots, Bastiaan Ninaber always enjoys the company. However, it can get stressful at times. Bastiaan recalls working with Josh Olins for AnOtherMan’s fall 2008 style supplement. It was the first time he worked with Olins and he remembers it taking “quite a while, because [he] was with a lot of guys. And then to get a shot where everybody was just right was a challenge.” However, the shoot delivered great results and Bastiaan had a blast working with Olins, coming out of the experience seeing Olins as a “really fun guy to work with”, who always puts in the extra energy to turn out dynamic photos.

Bastiaan Ninaber must have that genuine spark that keeps him on top of photographer’s lists. For the most recent issue of L’Officiel Hommes, Milan Vukmirovic turns to the talents of Bastiaan once more for an enchanting editorial that finds life in the shadows along with a nice evening suit or two.

Patrick Kafka and our current model of the month Bastiaan Ninaber star in Arnaldo Anaya-Lucca’s editorial for the January issue of GQ Japan. Entitled “New British Attitude” and styled by Grant Pearce, the shoot takes a focused look at the latest collection from Burberry Prorsum.

Reuniting with Willy Vanderperre, who photographed him before, most notably for the stunning Arena Homme+ editorial “Somewhere in Boystown”, Bastiaan Ninaber added the Cerruti fall campaign to his vast list of editorials and catwalk bookings. With no distractions, Bastiaan put on a fresh face and performed effortlessly for a classic campaign that we are happy to note has led to another booking for next season.

Bastiaan Ninaber works in an industry, where he has been fortunate enough to meet people from all over the world and forge long-lasting friendships. He explained that “it’s always good to do a job on your own” since you get more pictures. However, “it’s more fun to do it with some other guys.” Especially, since a great deal of the guys he works with, he also knows very well as friends, so “it’s nice to do something together.” Typically, runway season provides the perfect opportunity for the guys to get together. It’s hectic backstage with “lots of people screaming and photographers trying to take a good shot”, but the guys keep their cool and enjoy each others company. And to answer who Bastiaan keeps as company, he shared “there are a lot of guys who I like, but the ones I most hang out with are Johnatan, Jeremy, Josh, Lenz, Mark, Taylor and George.”

Bastiaan Ninaber kicked off a successful career in modeling with Dior Homme’s spring 2007 campaign. Since his debut, Bastiaan has appeared in numerous publications such as Arena Homme+, Man About Town, VMAN, Numero Homme and Fantastic Man. He has also starred in campaigns for H&M, Z Zegna, Barney’s and Cerruti. He remains one of the most popular models on the runway season after season and shows no sign of slowing down. Bastiaan’s latest campaign is for Ballantyne spring 2011.
