Duckie Brown returned to true form today, blowing out silhouettes and embracing their signature knack for quirky detailing. Fluidity amplified, the Duckie Brown man was treated to a comfortable showing of relaxed proportions in varied textures and colors. Offering attractive pieces in all shapes and sizes, when Daniel Silver and Steven Cox were not occupied with fantastic fabric selections such as their take on shearling, they were intent on interjecting suiting with fun and spontaneity. Donning crisp colors and emphasizing a relaxed pace of movement, Duckie Brown’s trousers and jackets made the perfect closing statement to a season on point with personality and substance.

This past Saturday, we hosted a day of faces, both new and established for a class photo of sorts. Donning a double breasted blazer from Diwon Man and a modest shirt from Hyden Yoo, the models each sat for a brief session with Steven Chu before making a dash to castings for the upcoming fashion week.
Over the course of fashion week, we’ll provide a closer look at this season’s class as each model reveals their secret for surviving an endless amount of castings.

Opting for a more serious mood this season than last, Yohji Yamamoto’s fall collection takes a somber turn while also experiencing a poignant art moment. Delivering on expectation, but also pushing the boundaries to provide room for a more thoughtful touch, a uniform for men of all ages comes together with attentive care to form and function. Cut large and dressed by subdued colors besides a shocking jolt of red, the lineup provides a tidy fusion of east and west as the stagnant nature of suiting is dissected into an attractive lifestyle of great ease.

Cut from gray and black, Rick Owens’ latest designs revolve around an angular look for fall. From asymmetrical zippers on boots and a signature exercise in draping to new hardware adornments, Owens continues a unique path. Displaying an unusual softness despite the hard edges, the collection finds momentum in graphic lines defined by color, texture and form. Intertwining the usually dark color palette with a sheen finish, fall’s collection is rounded out with a formal feel.

With beautiful backstage images to match a wonderful spring showing from General Idea, Shannon Sinclair captures peaceful look behind the scenes with familiar faces that include Matvey Lykov and rising star Miles Garber.

Tying together a gradual progression of color and silhouettes, General Idea’s recent New York showing of the latest collection entitled Nostalgia delighted the senses with a variety of bold cuts and graphic prints. Kicking the show off with a crisp fashionable take on sportswear dressed in fiery red, designer Bumsuk Choi addressed the basics before trying his hand at the modern silhouette. Relaxed and extended, the touch of an artist came to mind with splashes of paint across trousers, while a fitting blast from the past came forth in a segment of workerswear perfected with drawstring belting.
