Shades of Gray–Diesel taps Brazilian model Douglas Neitzke for their fall 2011 Black Gold lookbook. Young, modern and dark, the latest lineup turns to gray for a trendy offering of layered ensembles. From washed denims and deconstructed outerwear to treated fabrics, Diesel turns up the ante with paper bag waists, a play on proportions as well as general destruction. Accented with pockets of red, fall’s collection lights a fire to the season with an accessible range for the contemporary man.

the big circle–being one of the most sought-after shows during paris men’s fashion week i unfortunately couldn’t get a full backstage access for lanvin – there again the pr officer promised me to sort it out next season so let’s hope this piece will achieve to convince him ;-) !- but i still managed to feel a big serenity in the place while snaping the likes of baptiste radufe or miles mcmillan, as well as a great disponibility from designers alber elbaz & lucas ossendrijver who very kindly accepted to pose for a post-show portrait … a beautiful collection and a very impressive show with an army of models walking in circle underneath the sunny glass dome of the bourse du commerce … / view the spring 2012 collection review here.

In Search of a Hero–Fast and furious, the spring 2012 collection of Lanvin sees the far reaching efforts of designers Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver as they look to outfit the house’s ideal man. Continuing a knack for selection of color as well as the incorporation of great fabrications for heightened texture, the spring collection marries mystery and a free creative spirit for a charming feat. From the dark allure of a shimmering coat or an equally enthralling jet black suit with impeccable lines to exotic prints, varying proportions deliver brilliance. Amongst the trappings of contemporary suiting, the nylon windbreaker charters luxurious territories as oversize parkas and ballooned sleeves captivate the imagination with a militaristic interest–offering a plethora of style aspirations for the spring 2012 season.
