Bold Man’s Army–Taking inspiration from the movie Blade Runner for his spring/summer 2012 collection, Rynshu delivers a neo-monochrome futuristic world, tinged with his signature rock’n’roll touch … Spring’s distinctive feature is a rare couture lady-like technique, employing the use of organa, silk georgette or silk chiffon with sequined patterns or volume effects; leathers are transformed, painted silver, glass finished or punched … Modern and slender, the silhouette is sophisticated and sharp … Sleeves are shortened or asymmetric, armholes are slit, zips are everywhere … Renegade studded jackets and slashed trousers, conqueror biker style and graphic or army inspired and sleeveless overalls, android rib cage printed shirts or t-shirts and heavy lace-up boots compose a complete wardrobe for modern replicants …

frantic atmosphere before the rynshu ss12 show for the japanese designer invited will.i.am to walk for him ! tv crews & photographers awaiting the last minute arrival of the star for pictures & interviews, one model never turning up (guess who ?) and having to be replaced ‘on the go’ by one of the make up assistants, the tension was mounting until the moment i was allowed in the singer’s private dressing room to get some exclusive shots right before the show kicked off …

Dark Romance–Never one to conform to the norms, Rick Owens puts the ideals of masculinity to the test for spring 2012. Dresses after dresses, the California-native set out to take control of his definition of noir elegance for men with maxi lengths of billowing proportions, while strict graphic lines and tailored jackets offered a subliminal contrast to the disheveled silhouette. Still heavy in Goth, the apocalyptic DNA is altered for a lighter offspring of tunic tops, elongated outerwear and trim trousers in a lightweight silk and linen blend for an outing in uncharted romantic terrorities for the king of dark glamor.

today’s already the last day of castings in town before most of the boys head up for milan fashion week, therefore also the last episode of this exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ story at the men’s paris fashion week castings …
a nicer & easier day for model hunting than yesterday : sun is back and running around town is over since there’s only one same place (the headquarters of totem, one of the most prominent press agencies in town) for the castings for 5 different shows (ehud, julius, juun j, songzio and walter van beirendonck) !
and a nice list of new trophies which one more time includes some already very familiar names (frey mudd, oskar tranum, thiago santos, timothée elkaïm, russell giardina, chris rayner, bruce machado, lowell tautchin etc), a couple of rising faces (eugeniy sauchanka, florian van bael, mattía corrias etc) and several newcomers (victor leclerc, chady dnaf, laurin titze etc) …
thank you guys, i had a real good time and hope to see you back here in 2 weeks for the shows !
