Browne Extravaganza–A friend to general nonsense, Thom Browne finds the inspiration for this season’s spectacular staging in imagery from the cabaret. Adorning his trademark suiting with fringe and lengthening silhouettes, only to be finished with long beaded stands of pearls, an audacious collection finds its voice in striped abnormalities. From high structured sleeves to wide shapes or jilted proportions, Browne tests the line of reasonable more so than ever with a lineup that still manages to pack an impressive tailored line alongside the bridal veil.

The Tailored Man–Accenting a tailored vision with luxe fabrications, Kris Van Assche presents a clean showing for Dior Homme’s spring 2012 season. An attentive eye to suiting is a Dior mainstay, but where this season really shines is Van Assche’s fine execution of the simple basics. Outside impeccable tailored lines, the collection shifts into a functional mode with shirting effortlessly cut from leather and silk. Combine the easy shapes with a stable of alluring accessories as well as the draping of paneled outerwear and the new spring season is a modern delight.

One Life to Live–Kris Van Assche looks to the laid-back lifestyle of Los Angeles for his latest collection to hit the catwalk. Calm, cool and collected, Van Assche’s idea of youth translates into relaxed suiting for those initial steps of maturity. Constructed from lightweight cotton and linen, the loosely slung lineup delivers the usual suspects with an effortless attitude and this season’s print of choice – the pinstripe. Adding great subtleties like volume in the sleeves, button detailing or curved hemlines to a fluid range, Kris Van Assche’s men are ready to bask in the eternal sunshine of California.

Gabriel Gronvik walked Lanvin, Cerruti, YSL and Marc by Marc Jacobs in his debut season for Fall/Winter 2010. He continued on to be a runway hit walking for Haider Ackermann, Raf Simons, Jil Sander, Burberry and Gucci, among many more. Born in Sweden, Gabriel has appeared in editorials for Wonderland, D and Metal magazine.
