Athleticism for the Style Aficionado –Siki Im revisits school days with a new collection that draws its inspiration from the gym. Donning sweatbands and sneakers, the men of Siki Im hit the gymnasium turned runway with a lineup that juxtaposed the fun sporty motif with accessible garments. The parka was turned out in an oversize boxy cut, channeling the victory lap of a champion with room for more delicate pieces like a fantastic long cable-knit sweater, furnished in black. Meanwhile, leggings, sweats and layered pants made the perfect companion to variations on the letterman jacket. Blending suiting with sportswear, the overall results were nothing short of genius. Presenting the best of both worlds, Siki Im’s fall collection tailored to the interests of the creative while resonating the fundamental ideas of menswear.

Inked & Inclined–Singer, songwriter and artist Jonathan Kroppmann drops by his agency, Red Citizen, for a digital update as he showcases his epidermal art.

Expressed through the medium of photography to bring awareness to The Somaly Mam Foundation, Red’s Jonathan Kroppmann is one of sixty subjects photographed by Michael Angelo for Wonderland Beauty Parlor. Whereas make-up to most represent the tools of free expression, an item as simple as lipstick can mark the plight of young girls in countries like Cambodia who are forced to wear red lipstick to be sold as slaves in brothel. In great contrast, Angelo reclaims red lipstick as a symbol of freedom and empowerment by showcasing unique individuals who pave a path of their own in The Lipstick Portraits. As Angelo shared, “After 20 years of collaborating with people in the realm of appearance, I have had a unique opportunity to explore the role of beauty in our culture and learn some deep truths about it. I have worked with people who are considered to be amongst the most beautiful in the world and found them to be significantly less so, and I have worked with some exceptionally unusual looking characters who have awed me with the beauty of their substance.”

Jonathan Kroppmann is not your typical clean-cut model. The heavily tattooed model has proven against all odds that it is possible to have a successful career. He became the face of Juicy Couture and appeared in the lookbook for Helmut Lang for spring and fall 2008. He had his breakout moment when he was shot by Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia. Jonathan was photographed by Michael Angelo for The Lipstick Portraits exhibit, a foundation fighting against human trafficking and sexual slavery. Not only did Jonathan share his good looks, but it was also for a good cause.
