Best Served on Ice–Showing for their third season in New York City, Moncler Grenoble took to Wollman ice rink at Central Park with a synchronized performance by athletes that gave movement to the label’s latest outing. Ready for the slopes in extraordinary fashion, fall’s collection took its point of view from crime boss Joe Colombo, utilizing vinyl and plastic fabrics for a technical approach to the season with a dangerous finish. Offering protection from the elements, puffer jackets, quilted crew-necks and lush sweaters rounded out a lineup of active apparel, presented in rich style.

Regal Formation–Dolce & Gabbana follows a path lined with luxe fabrications and rich accents for the fall/winter 2012 season. A mix of country romance and early turn of the century dapper sentiments, the Italian house finds a place for their D&G youth amongst a mature collection of standout pieces. Dressing up suit jackets, lapels cut out of velvet mark the season, while the gradual incorporation of gold embroidery reinforces fall’s grand theme. Overlooking no facet in the life of their debonair man, the lineup transitions from sharp outerwear and companion pieces of warm wool to a more relaxed gesture that sees Dolce & Gabbana turn to their infamous silk. Whether worn as an exquisite set of pajamas or a bold move outdoors, the regal execution is the perfect touch to a collection that spares no expense.

Back to the Stage–Fusing the near-retro casualness of the country with the sleepy attitude of beach towns, Michael Bastian returns to the catwalk after a season off. Dressing his man for a season of leisure, Bastian’s typical preppy aesthetic is married with the laid-back essence of summer staples, ranging from board shorts and open shirts to denim. Still maintaining a degree of sharpness, the easy showing was completed with a selection of fine essentials that tackled charming knits and tailored suiting alike.
