Kenzo creative director Antonio Marras looks to detective stories for the inspiration of fall’s smart collection. Fusing both formal and casual styles, the Kenzo man is put together with a little fun and mystery. From the highbrow detective and mischievous villain to the common civilian, Marras’ collection comes together with a quaint British sensibility. Bringing the scholar out to play, printed knits join the collection’s consistent core of jackets that provide structure as well as a relaxed outing. Turning to fine leather, boots add a rebellious edge, while kilts add an old touch made new. Altogether a meshing of various characters with intensive personalities, the new Kenzo collection offers a wardrobe for many a man come the fall 2011 season.

Peeking through the seams of Salvatore Ferragamo’s latest outing was a nod to the easy cool of the 70’s and a desire to show that menswear can be both masculine and remarkably soft with warm sentiments. Embracing a relaxed pacing of separates and outerwear, fall’s collection boasted dark rich hues of autumn, contrasted against sensational flesh tones. Resonating a refined luxury, carried off with little to no effort, the range quickly turned to a lifestyle, gently touching upon western and militaristic influences. From strong tailored overcoats and suede trousers to buttery soft leather, Salvatore Ferragamo excelled in paying compliments to the heart of their man – robust, personal and adaptive.

John Varvatos turns back the hands of time and sends his men down the rail with a hip new collection that delights in its raw edges. Unlocking a wealth of styles, Varvatos ventures to the dark west for a leather clad look, trimmed with fringe and attitude. From the delectable rebel to a hint of the vagabond, fall’s collection entices the young with a sophistication born from the same vision that courts some of rock’s greatest icons.

From bold colors and ornate patterns to dapper cuts, the designer’s latest outing exudes elegance with a certain nostalgia. Primed and ready to go, Ford’s leading man easily transitions from the luxe trappings of eveningwear to refined casual ensembles and the perfect pieces for a laid-back tryst on the beach.
