The Art of Racing–Brazilian race car driver Ayrton Senna served as the muse of designer Thom Browne’s latest collection for Moncler Gamme Bleu. Lending his quirky creations a new dimension, yellow, red and white dressed an entertaining wardrobe, fit for the spectator. Starting the show with padded jumpsuits and moving towards shrunken tailored garments, cheerful suiting separates championed Browne’s race car driver. Eventually arriving at his signature palette of gray and navy, volume-induced jackets, long coats as well as layered cold-weather essentials completed another season of fun for the beloved designer.

The Business of Style–Ermenegildo Zegna tackles the wardrobe of the professional for the fall/winter 2012 season. From board meeting to impromptu plane flight, an evening out or even the slopes on vacation, Zegna’s man is ready for any occasion. While suiting dressed in a Prince of Wales print finds a classic streak with strong lines, essentials like the trench are updated with soft leather accents and an oversize silhouette. Honing in on the details, trousers with the cuff turned up reveal a printed lining that reinforces the collection’s fine attention to style. As jackets are prepared for the cold with quilting, chic numbers like a loosely cut cape jacket resonate well with Ermenegildo Zegna’s man who transverses the path between steadfast tradition and playful modernity.

Major Paris–A culmination of established stars and new talents on the rise come together for Major Paris’ show package for the fall/winter 2012 season. At the forefront is Lenz Von Johnston, Gucci’s current model pick as well as Adrian Wlodarski, who easily finds the catwalk a second home. Rising in the ranks is former fresh face Jesse Shannon, who has been gaining great momentum over the last quarter with steady editorials. Add to the mix new standouts like Simon Van Meervenne and the wheels are in motion for positive results. From the it factor of Jamie Wise to the undeniable star power of Paolo Roldan, Major Paris is on track to another great season.

A Stroll on the Casual Side–It was a breath of fresh air at the spring 2012 presentation of Ermenegildo Zegna. Taking a stroll alongside the Riviera, it was a classic tale of luxury sportswear with a modern Italian twist. Perfectly apt for the spring and summer season, relaxed layering was made easy by lightweight fabrics in calm and soothing tones of soft grey, dust, brown and blue. Textured cotton knits, stone washed suiting and elegantly draped outerwear added a soft touch to the everyday wardrobe of the Zegna man.

Major Paris–There is a subtle shift in the industry’s leading models at work and Major Paris’ spring show package touches upon this with the quick rising star that is Sebastian Sauvé and this year’s undeniable breakout model Leebo Freeman. Joining the ranks is Paolo Roldan with a solid editorial profile recently, as well as runway favorites such as Gabriel Gronvik and Lowell Tautchin. Re-emerging front and center with a major fall campaign on the horizon, Lenz Von Johnston is set to take the runway. Meanwhile, Major Paris also ushers in a lineup of promising up and comers, ranging from Federico Cola to buzz boy Bo Develius. Finally, fresh on the radar to watch are Jamie Wise, David Koch, Pierre-Harald and American import Jesse Shannon.
