Laid-back Moment–The style of a skater was one point of reference for Luis Fernandez when he was creating the NUMBER:Lab spring 2012 collection. That coupled with the mood of the French Riviera in the thirties manifested itself in a layered athletic-inspired menswear that while color blocked at times included more than a few prints. One graphic black and white print came courtesy of a collaboration with artist Joseph La Piana. Board shorts, cadet jackets, blazers and tank tops rounded out the majority of the collection.

Runway-Ready–Heading into their second season, Soul continues to build their men’s board, turning up the ante with solid editorial boys. Led by the all-around standout that is Simon Nessman, models such as Terron Wood are joined by new favorites that include Sebastian Sauve, River Viiperi and Lowell Tautchin. Meanwhile, fresh new imports Anthon Wellsjo and Danny Beauchamp bring their blue-chip qualities to a well-rounded lineup for the spring 2012 runway season.

The Last Rays of Summer–Photographed by Michael Stratton, Travis Hanson, Zack Clark, Eian Scully, Justin Hopwood and Zeb Ringle take in a thoughtful outing, as the last days of summer pan out. Captured in the transitional phase, the Soul gang wear a mix of summer and fall pieces, pulled together by stylist Cameron K. Carpenter. From Dolce & Gabbana to John Varvatos and OAK, Soul’s boys are dressed for a memorable outro to the season.

Capturing the summer spirit, Greg Vaughan photographs Soul model Travis Hanson poolside.

Suiting 101–Menswear fashion editor Alex Badia tackles suiting for the April edition of the magazine. Teaming up with photographer David Roemer and groomer Anthony Nader, Arthur Sales, Sean Harju, Travis Hanson (Soul), Jacob Coupe and Jordan Coulter (VNY) are dressed in everything from Paul Smith and Dior Homme to Tommy Hilfiger for a clean suiting finish.

If you’re looking for a new lineup of fetish wear, Jeremy Scott may just be your cup of tea. Taking a nod from the queen of pop herself – Madonna, Scott proved once more to not be weary of eliciting a strong reaction to his offbeat forays into fashion’s playful side. The eccentric designer sent his boys out in leather and chaps for a provocative spring showing that was anything but restrained.

Travis Hanson has been held under the wings of and nurtured by some of fashion’s most significant figures. Steven Klein made the perfect-human-specimen his muse and a leading man in the industry. From Arena Homme+, Vogue Paris and Hercules to Vogue Hommes Japan and Love magazine, Travis was Klein’s go-to man. His good looks would also not go unnoticed by Dolce & Gabbana. The Italian duo made sure a spot was reserved on the runway for him. Travis has been the face of Cavalli Class and graced the covers of Slurp and Crushfanzine.
