Rinse, Wash & Repeat–Caught somewhere between the skater and the cyclist, Frankie Morello’s man embraces a sporty attitude for the spring 2012 season. Hitting the catwalk in an array of fitted and relaxed silhouettes, a myriad of inspirations manifest themselves in a varied range. While narrow jackets and shirting options relay a certain sportsmanship, ties transformed into belts add a little novelty. Meanwhile, oversize proportions, nylon jackets, transparent fabrications and a vast lineup of color continue the youthful spontaneity that is key to the Italian’s label fun image.

The Best in Sportswear–Ermanno Scervino embraces a relaxed change of pace with a paired down collection of masculine and classic European sportswear. Tailor-made for the man on the go, the collection included pieces, ranging from fitted trousers and double breasted suits to linen shirts. Rich fabrications in elegant hues of deep navy, golden brown and off-white were mixed with Prince of Wales prints and nautical stripes for an effortless season of mixing and matching.

Style by the Seaside–From Italy to St. Tropez, it was a summer get-a-way in Roberto Cavalli’s classic lush style. Exotic python leathers came together with invigorating pops of jewel tones in rich violet, golden yellow and fuchsia pink for the disco-centric collection. Balancing the bold and regal hues, the purity of whites offered an understated sensibility of luxury. True to his Italian style, Cavalli’s lineup of double breasted blazers, flared trousers and printed shirts reigned with silk fabrications and fine tailoring.

The Net–Italian label Dolce & Gabbana crafts a web of a season for their spring 2012 collection. Seeking to interject tailored menswear with a fashion-forward concept, the latest range looks to meshed textures for a signature look. From casual shorts and hooded tops to more striking suiting, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana demonstrated a playful hand this season. While crisp suiting made an appearance, the relaxed nature of silhouettes and inclusion of fun separates, ranging from the jumpsuit to barely there jackets made for a fresh outing, coupled with style and substance.

Desert Match–Leaving last season’s structured military silhouette behind, Corneliani ventures into uncharted territories of a deconstructed nature and adopt the uniform of a safari ranger. Lightweight cotton suits elegantly drape over the body, while trousers of cascading fabrics drift with the wind in a soft palette of off white, grey and khaki. From linen shorts to summer weight knitwear, the art of elegance was crafted through the ease of execution and fine tailoring. Trench coats, classic suiting and utilitarian safari jackets were staples made perfect for luxurious complementary accessories such as linen scarves, desert boots and leather goods.
