Garden Party–Immaculate structural tailoring in an explosion of bright colours celebrated Richard James’ spring/summer 2013 collection, named “Urban Fete” Crisp linen shorts suits in a joyful array of saturated brights were teamed with floral shirts, and oversized Prince of Wales check gave a touch of playfulness to the more subdued and traditional tailoring in neutral greys, blues and browns made in summer “Cool Wool”. Casual wear included blouson jackets with contrast ribbing, waffle knits with zipped fronts in lime and turquoise, and loose linen shirts in bright pastels worn with matching paisley shorts. Knee length swimming shorts in a harlequin print teamed with large floppy beach hats added a sense of fun and crystal embellishments on bright evening slippers and ankle socks made a show-stopping statement. / Words by Kenny Ho, Fashionisto London Fashion Editor.
