The School of Owens–The boys of Rick Owens typically have a certain edge to them but the designer’s fall/winter 2013 Parisian showing had an electric quality. Rocking extra teased hair, the boys hit the catwalk with a certain element that hinted at the undone, the unhinged. Volume-induced coat numbers were belted at the waist, cowl necks were stiff and askew, while the season’s boot was Owens’ reinterpretation of the hi-top. Moving on to minimalist coats clasped asymmetrically, elongated tanks cut from luxe materials and printed separates, the show came to a conclusion boasting Rick Owens’ signature aesthetic slightly remixed to the tune of a clean fall outing with a few intentional missteps.
