Rozalb de Mura Fall 2009

Roman­ian designer, Oláh Gyárfás’s fic­tional char­ac­ter Rozalb de Mura is con­stantly trav­el­ing the world in search of “inter­est­ing des­ti­na­tions and charis­matic peo­ple.” This sea­son, Rozalb de Mura’s trav­els have brought him to Lon­don for On|Off Presents. The quiet occa­sion is marked by a somber ash gray with min­i­mal­ist details. The sub­tle changes that do occur in shape, play with notions of gen­der. Broad, Franken­stein like shoul­ders high­light a hyper mas­cu­line ele­ment, while ruf­fles lend a cer­tain fem­i­nin­ity. Over­all, Gyár­fás presents a mono­chro­matic world so stun­ning in its sim­plic­ity and atten­tion to detail, that choice of color is not an issue.
