Aiming for free expression this fall, Japanese label Iroquois offers “Be Natural” – a story of vintage clothing, music, and travel. Embarking on a romantic celebration of diversity, the collection takes us on a sporadic journey joined by friends. Here, one can be themselves and at ease. The eclectic range is unassuming, yet offers a great array of season appropriate pieces that encompass everything from heavy knits to sherling vests. Most charming is not the mere clothes, but the thought and purpose behind them. Iroquois unites culture and fashion for a contemporary take on the nomadic experience and the natural human bonds that arise.

Entitled “Let Me Free”, Plein’s fall collection was inspired by Gus Van Sant’s 1985 film, Mala Noche. The film’s setting of Portland echoed a sentiment of grunge and dodgy characters that speaks to the collection’s flannels and simple layers that interestingly enough are quite colorful. Plein joins a list of labels seeking to submerge themselves in the grunge aesthetic and its not a bad idea. Compared to the current trends that are quite neat in makeup, an overall rebellious dishevel would be refreshing.

Don’t let the velvet jacket and bow-tie throw you off. Sisley’s latest efforts are quite laid back. Describing their fall collection as violently happy, cyber zen and golden age, the range aims to mix formal and casual apparel for an urban inspired look. Meanwhile, clean lines and shapes create the zen, while silhouettes draw from the recent past, calling upon velvet numbers, roomier fits and more put together looks. In essence, Sisley is embracing a new youth – one that is not afraid to dress up for a casual outing.

Change must be a hard concept for British label Dunhill. For his fourth consecutive season, actor Jude Law is the face of Dunhill’s campaign. This time around, Law is supposed to represent a modern maverick directing a cast and crew at Shepperton Studios. Same muse, different season – do you think Law will add another season to his growing portfolio?
