corpus Corpus Fall 2008

Corpus is on its way up the high road. There are still many elements of streetwear in this collection, but it is obvious that Corpus is moving in a different direction.  Compared to previous seasons, this look is a lot less urban and more metropolitan.  The look is very clean and streamlined.  These pieces would not look out of place styled with Patrik Ervell, Band of Outsiders, etc.  However, the pieces still carry the edge that Corpus is known for.  Every season, there are those little details that stand out and differentiate Corpus from the crowd.  This season, the way in which the pieces frame the neck is a focal point.  Corpus provides a nice mixture of necklines; both angular and circular.  For examples, just look at the collar on the above jacket and the boat neck on the sweater below.  Corpus is moving in the right direction and spring looks very promising.

A couple weeks ago, I posted about Swedish brand Jurek and their mission to make clothes with ecological cultivated cotton.  At that time, official lookbook images were not available, but now with the November 11th launch of their webstore, new images have been released.  The simple understated photos go perfectly with their activist approach to fashion.

Scosha NYC: The Commandment is In

shit camp shot Scosha NYC: The Commandment is In

Necklaces are the perfect compliment to any simple, refined, and easy going look; especially when light weight layers create that perfect “V” (ex: Hyden Yoo red cardigan fit).  Taking it literal or in fun, I love these necklaces by Scosha NYC that are engraved with “Thou Shall Not Talk Shit”.

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER! CHEEKY AND CHIC FOR EVERYONE!

“Isn’t it inspiring when people get their shit together and do more than “talk the talk”?
People that are always putting their talk into action.

For some people, it’s all talk and no action — it drives you crazy right?
Do you, or someone you know, need to do more of the “walk” than all the “talk”?

If so, look no further!

Scosha’s Thou Shall Not Talk Shit Jewelry for men and women will be a little reminder for all to follow through with the things you swear by and goals you want to achieve.
A push in the right direction is a perfectly fun Holiday gift for shit talkers and for people that are on the right track and take pride in their achievements.

With 2009 approaching, it’s time to turn talk, into action!” [Scosha NYC]

Runway to Shoot: Frankie Morello

Trying way too hard to coordinate pieces is a pet peeve of mine.  This includes designers, yet this look from Frankie Morello works.  Interestingly enough, it works in the editorial, but not on the runway.  Personally, I think there is too much going on with the runway ensemble.  I dislike sweaters and scarves produced from the same material/colorway, yet this combination of sleeves, a sweater, and a collar does not annoy me terribly.  It is a hard look to pull off, but I like it.  What do you think?
