Spring 2010 | April77 – Youthful Abandon

Always appre­cia­tive of the inti­mate rela­tion­ship between music and fash­ion, April77 turns to Amer­i­can youth in the late 1980’s for inspi­ra­tion this sea­son. Hon­ing in on the grow­ing music scene of Port­land and Seat­tle that included grunge and hard­core, April77 high­lights an androg­y­nous fash­ion that ulti­mately was the anti-​​fashion. Tak­ing the motto “It’s cool to be not cool” to heart, the range takes a vin­tage vibe and turns out well-​​worn tops, sweaters and out­er­wear. Among the fray is also a Native Amer­i­can inspi­ra­tion that looks to trans­late an Amer­i­cana past into nos­tal­gic wear. Alto­gether, the col­lec­tion takes its laid-​​back atti­tude and in an equally fit­ting way, remains ded­i­cated to using nat­ural fab­rics, main­tain­ing April77 as a cruelty-​​free label.
