Stockholm Fashion Week wraps up today. The spring 2009 collections by Tiger of Sweden and Nikolaj d’ Etoiles caught my eye.  The styling is interesting. The top picture is from the Tiger of Sweden show, where nearly every model sported an ascot. The clothes are a little on the boring side, but the inclusion of the ascot is engaging. The ascot creates another layer and adds an appealing visual depth.  I have not ventured into this territory, but I may just have to get out some scarves and experiment.

The bottom picture is from the Nikolaj d’ Etoiles collection. The styling of the belts is of interest.  The belt is yet another accessory to experiment with. I’ve already talked in great detail about the trend of belting waists, but I did not stop to think of the endless possibilities when considering using different materials for belts. Rope, ribbon, knit, etc. A new focus on belts presents the opportunity create or reinvent new fashion pairings.
