Tom Ford and a Single Man

Designer Tom Ford’s direc­to­r­ial debut will be “A Sin­gle Man” based off of the novel by gay author Christo­pher Ish­er­wood.  The story, tak­ing place in Los Ange­les in 1962 is about George, a gay middle-​​aged col­lege pro­fes­sor who is cop­ing with the loss of his lover.  The film will star Julianne Moore, Colin Firth, and Nicholas Hoult.

Style Watch — Knit Lineup

November’s issue of GQ Ger­many fea­tured trend pages, which included heavy knit sweaters.  If you have yet to buy at least one this sea­son, now is def­i­nitely the time to look.  Stores are in a mad rush to mark down their mer­chan­dise and some­thing tells me that heavy knits are not going away any­time soon.

On Decem­ber 2, 2008, Naomi Camp­bell will be in Miami, Florida for the sec­ond annual pho­tog­ra­phy exhi­bi­tion, “In Fash­ion Photo” The exhi­bi­tion will fea­ture pho­tog­ra­phy by more than thirty-​​five of the world’s lead­ing fash­ion pho­tog­ra­phers includ­ing Bruce Weber, Ellen Von Unwerth, and Gilles Benisi­mon. The exhi­bi­tion will also include a dis­play enti­tled “Naomi Camp­bell Ret­ro­spec­tive” chron­i­cling Campbell’s mod­el­ing career.

Kanye West attended the Amer­i­can Music Awards in Los Ange­les wear­ing a jacket sport­ing the name of his upcom­ing brand, Pastelle.  As genius as Mr. West thinks he is, this jacket is lack­ing in that depart­ment and it appears that last season’s fash­ion weeks were wasted on him.  Or maybe, he will sur­prise us non-​​believers.
