Band Practice–New York Model Management models Adam Bates and Michael Basquette pick up their instruments for a quick session in a Bite spread with photographer Michael Elmquist. For this warm photo shoot, the boys don knitwear, reoccurring stripe patterns, wool cardigans and print jumpers as the spread evokes a reposed feel.

Blissful Mayhem–Following a somber season, Duckie Brown designers Daniel Silver and Steven Cox weave their quirky narrative back into the collection, injecting the season’s silhouettes with volume. Offering up a perverted take on the gentleman, tailored double-breasted jackets are presented alongside baggy trousers and dressed in bold plaid prints. Latching on to elongated shirting once more, lengthened garments enjoy a relaxed bounty. Culminating in a dark palette with a strict uniform, Duckie Brown reinterprets formal wear for the modern man with ease on the mind.

New York Model Management–Among the usual suspects who have proven to be casting favorites, ranging from Alexander Johansson and Philipp Bierbaum to Charlie France, New York Model Management gets a fresh boost this season with several hot commodities fresh off the runway from Milan and Paris. Racking up shows left and right this month, Andrey Smidl comes out on top as one to watch, followed by new faces Onnys Aho, Todd Taylor and Jordan Postrel.

Spring Encore–Nicholas K enlists photographer Francis Hills to produce their spring 2012 lookbook, featuring New York Model Management’s Adam Bates. Mixing urban utilitarianism with draped silhouettes, Nicholas K brings their signature aesthetic to the forefront in earthy spring pigments, drawn out in coveted layers. From sleeveless jackets and cuffed shorts to hooded knits, a complete wardrobe can be unpacked from strong contemporary ensembles. / Hair by Jason Murillo with makeup by Javier Romero.

Bangs Only–Rushing downtown from Lincoln Center, Nikolai de Vera was on hand for us, to capture behind the scenes at Buckler’s spring 2012 show. Highly organized and ready for a great show, the only thing necessary for the day was a sharp set of bangs. / View runway images and review here.

Stepping Up–Taking to the streets once more, Gansevoort specifically, Buckler revealed a new offering that not only showcased the modern aesthetic the label is associated with, but a hint of a more sophisticated image. Drawn up in a somber color palette, the slouchy, draped efforts of Buckler were married to a notion of business, mixing sharp tailored jackets with drop crotch trousers. Fitted and lengthened, the low slung collection of accessible garments made an impact with a cohesive ease in style and function.
