Root Mgt–Bringing together a fine crop of young models, where often a story is expressed in an inspiring face, Root Mgt ushers in a season for the contender. While David Hlinka charms with a certain boyish quality, Russell Giardina approaches the new season with a fresh hair cut. Meanwhile, runway staples such as Bobby Warden are joined by seasoned talents like Bram Vercamer or in the case of Jens Esping, a welcomed newcomer import.

Age Uomo Nuovo–Root model Bobby Warden dons the debut collection of New York-based label Rivenoir. Designed by Renato Cavero, who boasts a resume that includes work at Thierry Mugler, Catherine Malandrino and other labels, the new lineup mixes function with fantasy. Taking to tailored shorts, shirting and other pieces, acute attention to detail provides for a season of character. From bold print work and draped proportions to a penchant for unusual embellishments, Rivenoir embraces the spring season with an arresting new voice.

Mercury Rising–Exactly two weeks away, show season inches closer and Root’s models are the latest boys out the stable. From fresh faces like David Hlinka, who made his mark this past runway season in Europe as a boy for Burberry to Francis Lane, a new Yamamoto favorite, Root packs a special punch. Furthered by an undeniable presence, found in boys like Miles Frank and Leo Bonaventure, Root no doubt rests on a hotbed of developing talent.

Jen Campbell goes behind the scenes of Robert Geller’s recent fall 2011 show to capture the final wait before the main event.

The films of Luchino Visconti serve as the inspiration of Robert Geller’s fall 2011 collection. Seeking to translate a rich style of composition into an easy wardrobe of separates, fall’s range brings images of elegance into the modern age with Geller’s signature cuts and craftsmanship. Reflecting Visconti’s world with luxe leather finishes and inescapable pieces ranging from waistcoats and jackets to trousers, the collection still managed to show a little raw edge. Showing a youthful hand, denim, studded accessories and lounge-cut trousers made the unexpected statement in a collection that was no doubt in the Geller vein, but also a break with the expected for a season of intrigue.
