Prada Real Fantasies Spring/​Summer 2012 by Phil Meech

Prada Play­time–Hit­ting the city for their play­ful land­scape this sea­son, Prada once again hands over the reigns of their fan­tasy world to art direc­tors Ippolito Pestellini Lapar­elli and Fausto Fan­ti­n­uoli (AMO). Work­ing with the pho­tog­ra­phy of Phil Meech, Jeroen Kool­haas and Lok Jansen con­tribute their art­work to a fun set of images. Fea­tur­ing the mod­els of the house’s spring/​summer 2012 run­way show, clad in Miuc­cia Prada’s retro golf-​​inspired ensem­bles, color and novel prints are part­nered with quirky set­tings for an infec­tious outing.

Ana Locking Fall/​Winter 2012

Time Cap­sule–The recent tur­bu­lent eco­nomic times causes Ana Lock­ing to look back to the 1920’s and the Great Depres­sion of 1929 for the inspi­ra­tion to her fall/​winter 2012 col­lec­tion. Redefin­ing the struc­tured tai­lor­ing of the time for the mod­ern age, suit­ing serves as the collection’s main vehi­cle, steer­ing the label in a more for­mal direc­tion than usual. As semi-​​fitted trousers are pleated and paired with waist­coats as well as jack­ets, bright col­ors are infused for a cheer­ful spin.

Siki Im Fall/​Winter 2012 | New York Fashion Week

Ath­leti­cism for the Style Afi­cionado –Siki Im revis­its school days with a new col­lec­tion that draws its inspi­ra­tion from the gym. Don­ning sweat­bands and sneak­ers, the men of Siki Im hit the gym­na­sium turned run­way with a lineup that jux­ta­posed the fun sporty motif with acces­si­ble gar­ments. The parka was turned out in an over­size boxy cut, chan­nel­ing the vic­tory lap of a cham­pion with room for more del­i­cate pieces like a fan­tas­tic long cable-​​knit sweater, fur­nished in black. Mean­while, leg­gings, sweats and lay­ered pants made the per­fect com­pan­ion to vari­a­tions on the let­ter­man jacket. Blend­ing suit­ing with sports­wear, the over­all results were noth­ing short of genius. Pre­sent­ing the best of both worlds, Siki Im’s fall col­lec­tion tai­lored to the inter­ests of the cre­ative while res­onat­ing the fun­da­men­tal ideas of menswear.
