The Shapely Season–Acne travels a simple path for the spring 2012 season, looking to the bicyclist to guide the way. A standout label for attention to shapes this season, the cohesive lineup finds its stride with boxy outerwear, complemented by fitted pieces such as the knit and dress shirt. Outfitted in colors that emphasize a retro attitude, elements, old and new continue to be showcased throughout a collection that takes proportion to task with a wavering stance. Ultimately coming out on top with a subtle camouflage accent among strong monochromatic numbers, Acne continues to be a crowd pleaser.

Moving Lines–Billowing silhouettes in a great array of colors stole the show for Mr. by Roland Mouret’s spring 2012 outing, where the trouser reigned supreme. Paired with more fitted tops, the lineup was kept simple with soft neutrals accented by bright bursts of color, whether in canary yellow or cobalt blue. Altogether, translating the richness of the seventies into a wearable collection that included the likes of belted safari jackets, sleeveless knits and double breasted blazers, the man of Mr. by Roland Mouret achieved a chic finish with an impressive taste for simplicity.

Understated Cool–Paul Smith’s man heads back to planet earth for the spring 2012 season with a chic new attitude. Fitted and tailored, the latest collection dresses a sophisticated standard in color blocked hues. From snug cardigan and slim trousers to semi-relaxed jackets, Paul Smith manages to find a relaxed pacing. However, running head to head with athletic aspirations, spring’s refinement finds a casual novelty in bright layers, reversed nylon outerwear and finally, a cool sea of blue.

Perfect Form–Raf Simons juxtaposes masculine shapes with soft pastels and floral prints for his eponymous label’s spring 2012 outing. Lightweight plaid overcoats paired with black trousers are the new look for the modern gent and his meticulous slicked back hair. As always, Simons’ minimal silhouettes played with proportion for the perfect signature look.
Kenzo Homme Spring 2012 | Paris Fashion Week
A Place in the Sun–Warm thoughts of 1960’s Hawaii and the gorgeous images from the portfolio of Slim Aarons inspire a tropical getaway for the latest Kenzo collection from Antonio Marras. Embarking on a charming tale, a general relaxed silhouette takes priority as a myriad of prints lend the range its spirit. From stripes and floral prints to polka dots, the Kenzo man enjoys some time off in a wonderful array of blue, green as well as fuchsia. Showcasing tailored staples, ranging from the double breasted jacket and pleated suiting shorts to semi-fitted trousers, Marras once again demonstrates a leveled hand, employing a concept and sound construction side by side with great results.
