For One Moment–With romantic draping and decadent embroidery, Adrien Savigny’s debut collection stuns with rich craftsmanship and showmanship. Employing a loose silhouette, yards of fluid silk caress the body in sublime hues of midnight blue, jet black and silver-gray. / Video by Reto Schmid & Lee Wei Swee.

Tailor Blocking–With geometry and structure as building blocks, Jeroen Van Tuyl’s fall 2011 collection takes a contemporary approach to tailored menswear. From sculpted suits and trench coats to the sharply cut necklines of sweaters, simple construction is favored for remixed classics. To further emphasis the unapologetic tailoring, dimensional geometric prints are plated onto silk scarves, trousers and overcoats.

Fever of the Night–Vivid white and gem blue are infused with neutral tones of brown and khaki for POPcph’s Miami Vice-inspired collection. Enlisting Christopher Sylvest, the spring 2012 lookbook features an array of casual attire and party appropriate suiting, all developed in light and easy fabrics.

The Tale of Nenukko–Exploring intense folklore dimensions and fantastical sensibilities, Nenukko furthers their experimentation with eccentric prints and fabrications for fall 2011. Breaking free of body forms and constructions, the unisex-label strays away from conventional design principles and favors the manipulation of fabrics by bending, wrapping and draping. Rejecting structure and clean lines, the silhouette is soft and relaxed, while proportions are strong in elongation and volume.

The Unbeaten Path–Citing “an infection in New York” as inspiration, Asher Levine invited show attendees to witness his world for spring’s presentation. Featuring a palette of black, white, gray and purple for the collection, the designer released his models straight from quarantine with malformed arms and skulls. Surprisingly there was still quite the showing of utilitarian garments throughout the show by way of structural jackets, shorts and even a white jumpsuit.
