Summer Preview–With an easy stream of images coming to mind at the sound of the word ethereal as our catalyst this issue, we approached the latest edition with a dual purpose – capture those interesting collection moments that deserved attention, whether it was the subtle Mugler that is overshadowed by the more flamboyant or a fantastic bold print at Louis Vuitton while also leaving room for our first love – the editorial. Culminating in a fusion of the two styles, our summer issue came together with a great sampling of the season. / To celebrate our upcoming issue, use the code SUBSCRIBE at checkout & get 20% off an annual subscription (4 Issues) or PREORDER the summer issue here at 25% OFF.

The Next Brigade–Armed with his camera and thirty minutes for each model, photographer Brent Chua dedicates a day to several promising boys from Next. Captured with a clean beauty portrait and a selection of styled shots, Ryan Mertz, Henry Evans, Jack Lankford, German Ruiz, Jon Dartnell and Laurence McCrea each get their special moment.

The Active Uniform–Treading a fine path for the fall/winter 2012 season, Tim Coppens turns to the film Drive for inspiration. Filtering menswear fundamentals through a course, associated with racing and hockey, tailoring is relaxed and moods varied. Optioning fitted trousers and a more laidback silhouette, found in jogging pants, casual and formal identities coexist. The grounding force to knitwear and jackets, a sporty aesthetic is adapted for Coppen’s new uniform. Sleeves are zippered, leather insets embraced and strong lines incorporated for a detailed finish to an evolving season.

Edge on the Western Front–Lending their layered cool a fresh new edge, Nicholas K visited the west for the inspiration of their fall/winter 2012 collection. Crafting their own Man of Black, but sure to include their signature penchant for fleshed out neutrals, a tough exterior was brought forth with strong outerwear. Structured and lined, the shining moment to many an ensemble, coats were weaved in as the perfect companion to a wide array of knitwear. While a couple of pieces were loosely draped with toggles, more traditional pieces offered bouts of classic menswear for the highly accessible wardrobe. Treated with cowl necks and accessorized with leather holsters as well as hats, Nicholas K’s latest collection debuted with an impressive charm that saw the brand demonstrating the elasticity of their welcomed aim at a consistent aesthetic that marries function to style.

Uncertain Times–German Ruiz, Jeremy Wardlaw, Luciano Buttendorf, Nick Marini and Paul Boche are photographed by Jeff Bark for the latest edition of New York-based magazine Bullett. Styled by Sah D’Simone, the eclectic lot are clad in the likes of Maison Martin Margiela and Gucci for a dark tale of battle.
