Rework­ing Menswear–Slowly unrav­el­ing clas­sics and cre­at­ing a mod­ern wardrobe of great relax­ation, Yigal Azrouël set his lat­est col­lec­tion to the tune of revamped accents. Turn­ing out a range where the casual com­po­nents eas­ily melded with more fashion-​​forward sta­ples, Azrouël’s idea of spring came to fruition with a multi-​​faceted man of style. Tak­ing easy ready to wear pieces like the sweat­shirt and merg­ing it with strong gar­ments like the leather jacket, the first of many hybrids was born. From athletic-​​geared trousers and tops to more business-​​prone jack­ets, com­plete with relaxed tai­lor­ing and color block­ing, the sea­son deliv­ered an enor­mous selec­tion of strong standbys.

Diesel Black Gold Spring 2012 | New York Fashion Week

The Delight­ful Tide–Washed out but nev­er­the­less strik­ing, the boys of Diesel Black Gold arrived for an aquatic affair brought to land. From over­size, loose out­er­wear to metal­lic pants, paired with more for­mal pieces, Diesel brought an inter­est­ing vision to life with a sharp num­ber of ensem­bles, nar­rowed down for pre­ci­sion. How­ever small the show­ing, treated leather, cropped jack­ets and halved sleeves, zipped or unzipped pro­vided a feast for the eyes with a num­ber of stand­out gar­ments for the upcom­ing season.

Lounge Daze–A maven when it comes to prints, Timo Wei­land works his magic for an infec­tious spring 2012 out­ing. Hit­ting the cat­walk this time around, Wei­land man­ages a palette of sub­dued col­ors with a joy­ful appetite. Exud­ing a relaxed sophis­ti­ca­tion with sep­a­rates that range from easy jack­ets and loose shorts to semi-​​relaxed out­er­wear, it’s a pic­nic at the park for the happy spring character.

Print Cycle–His ‘n’ Her looks dom­i­nated the cat­walk for Custo Barcelona’s bold spring 2012 show­ing. Dig­i­tal prints, acid washes, shim­mer­ing fab­ri­ca­tions and sheer assets marked an eclec­tic range for those that like to be seen. Loud, but ready for con­stant tran­si­tions, Custo Barcelona’s lineup, con­sisted of tanks, shirt­ing and jack­ets, pro­vid­ing for easy spring/​summer lay­er­ing with mod­ern fits.

Robert Geller Spring 2012 | New York Fashion Week

The Well-​​Proportioned Times–Robert Geller takes his sig­na­ture style and rein­vents the wheel with a new focus on shape and pro­por­tions. Work­ing in leather and mesh as well as a sea­soned color palette of sub­dued hues, Geller grad­u­ally trans­ferred the focus from soft tai­lor­ing to ensem­bles with a lit­tle edge. From a relaxed double-​​breasted jacket to a cropped coat or parka with bal­looned sleeves, the out­er­wear did a great deal of the work in a col­lec­tion where lay­ered shirt­ing took on an easy pac­ing. Whether it was a button-​​down with small lapels, a boxy short-​​sleeved num­ber or a length­ened mesh top, Robert Geller’s lat­est col­lec­tion resulted in a spring col­lec­tion that jux­ta­posed a mod­ern sophis­ti­ca­tion with an effort­less cool.

Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2012 | New York Fashion Week

Mod­ern Prep–Tommy Hil­figer updates his sig­na­ture Amer­i­can look with spring’s pop art inspi­ra­tion. Infus­ing the lat­est lineup with cam­ou­flage prints and bright bursts of color, Hil­figer turned out a jovial tale for his sharp suited lad. From blocks of stripes to the fit­ted var­sity jacket, a smart array of relaxed sep­a­rates came together with a mag­netic appeal, fur­thered by the effort­less cool of cham­bray pieces as well as an influx of leatherwear.
