Native Son puts tradition on an American destination course for fall’s collection entitled The Track. The Train. The Traveler. While the collection’s intent was to capture a fusion of the past, present and future, the ensembles displayed a chaotic mixing of contemporary remnants with a touch of the refined standards. Traveling a clear path save for a couple misplaced accessories, the collection’s strength was evident in tailored jackets and outerwear that struck a smart chord. / Photos by Carl Barnett (The Fashionisto)

Closing the gap between Richard Chai’s menswear and womenswear collections, fall has an interesting story in toll. While Chai championed a menswear-inspired season for his women last week, yesterday’s show had a soft focus for men. Bringing his no-fuss appeal full circle, Chai suggested a season of calming grays and sleepwear inspired pieces. Paying more attention to form as well, relaxed proportions eased their way into fitted looks that emphasized a thoughtful man with strong envelope-pushing style on the mind.

Setting the table for a revolving rotation of models dressed for a work season or two, Billy Reid expanded on past collections for a culmination of his point of view as a designer. Enveloping a rustic elegance, Reid’s man is a combination of smart dressing and a practical blend of versatile silhouettes cut with relaxed proportions. Creating pieces for not the moment, but a lifestyle, fall’s lineup bodes well with jackets and knits alike comprising a wardrobe of garments ready for both today and tomorrow. / Photos by Carl Barnett (The Fashionisto)

Carlos Campos traces his Latin roots for fall’s collection. Finding a muse in romantic poet Pablo Neruda, the designer found a balance of boyish charm and old character to be the perfect starting point for his latest collection. Dressed in the burnt shades of fall, the range comes together with relaxed suiting and a running theme of militaristic influence that hones in on structure for outerwear and strong subdued colors. Still able to tread on the light side, a more at ease character came through with the addition of bomber jackets and a play on patterns. / Photos by Carl Barnett (The Fashionisto)
