

After a slight delay, Carin Wester has launched a webshop that is fully stocked with this fall’s collection. There is a vintage section up, but no stock as if yet. We can only hope that means the eventual stock of pieces from past collections. Until then, view the shop here.

Swaim Hutson, co-founder of Obedient Sons & Daughters has a new gig at Generra as creative director. Previously a collaborator, the move and fit is seen as natural. Hutson shared, “I hope to further develop Generra by introducing a more focused point of view for the brand. It’s an amazing opportunity and I am excited about this next step.”

Chicago-based retailer Hejfina sent out postcards to announce the end of a five-year run. Hejfina’s owner Heiji Choy Black shared two reason’s for the store’s closure: “The first being that [her husband] Brian and [her] are expecting a second child, and second [she] feels that the way people shop has forever changed in this difficult economy.” Hejfina will close its doors on September 27, 2009. All new fall/winter merchandise will be marked down 25 – 50% off, while all remaining stock from previous seasons will be marked 70 – 90% off.

Retailer Aloha Rag, which operates out of Honolulu and New York is set to debut a line for spring 2010. Aloha Rag’s creative manager Jeremiah Mandel explained, “We found that there were certain voids for basics or things that could go with the larger pieces.” The solution is a collection of integrable basics that will retail from $50 to $550.
