Even of Louis Vuit­ton plays it safe, usu­ally their col­lec­tions hold their own, but not this sea­son. It is hard to explain why exactly (besides the sketchy look­ing ski caps), but this looks like hobo lux­ury, and no, it is not chic. This run­way show was a mere adver­tise­ment to buy their bags and lug­gage. WWD reported, that Paul Hel­bers, the men’s wear stu­dio direc­tor, described the “quiet col­lec­tion” as “‘the trav­el­ing wardrobe of an African King, adapt­ing his taste for a trip to Paris.’” Stop…since when did being a king, equate to being low-​​rent? This is not a pass. In fact, this is a slap  in the face.
