Even of Louis Vuitton plays it safe, usually their collections hold their own, but not this season. It is hard to explain why exactly (besides the sketchy looking ski caps), but this looks like hobo luxury, and no, it is not chic. This runway show was a mere advertisement to buy their bags and luggage. WWD reported, that Paul Helbers, the men’s wear studio director, described the “quiet collection” as “‘the traveling wardrobe of an African King, adapting his taste for a trip to Paris.’” Stop…since when did being a king, equate to being low-rent? This is not a pass. In fact, this is a slap in the face.
