“The Stripe Collection” — 2707 Spring 2009

2707 is the birth date of designer Mor­gan Sund­berg. Launched in 2004, 2707 was ini­tially a women’s line. Fall 2008 saw an expan­sion of the label to include menswear. Approach­ing clothes with the goal to revamp clas­sics, Sund­berg is at home play­ing with pro­por­tions to achieve a mod­ern look. He has done just that with the spring menswear col­lec­tion. Begin­ning with a French sailor inspired sweater, one piece became an entire range of cloth­ing. By restruc­tur­ing the way stripes work in an ensem­ble, Sund­berg cre­ated new looks that incor­po­rate over­size pieces, the mix­ing of dif­fer­ent stripe sets, and a vari­ety of shapes. The result is a relaxed col­lec­tion of ver­sa­tile but styl­ish tees, knits, waist­coats, and trousers fit for any breezy spring day.
