Meaningless Excitement–Y-3 gets a graphic edge for the spring/summer 2014 season with the help of art director Peter Saville, who contributes colorful designs to the collection inspired by today’s digital noise. The latest, a blend of creative director Yohji Yamamoto’s hand at Japanese tailoring and American streetwear explores a fusion of styles in search for the next big thing. Lengthening shapes, iconic sportswear pieces such as the polo shirt are given a new voice. In other efforts, the baseball jacket is reinterpreted using the kimono as a model. From oversized fleece jackets and cropped motorcycle jackets to jersey blazers, Y-3 creates a new wardrobe for their man, who is always on the brink of a new day.
