3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/Winter 2014-It’s official, the western trend is happening. Joining the party that currently includes Philipp Plein and Versace, 3.1 Phillip Lim unveiled a fall/winter 2014 collection inspired by the American Wild West. Standing apart from his contemporaries, Lim had a more interpretative take on the motif, fusing strong visual elements with his urban point of view. Here, boots were imitated with a cuffed trousers and the handkerchief transformed into a chic finishing accessory. Understated graphics of horses dressed separates, dress shirts had collar tips and the flair of the country was drawn out with a light plaid. Grain prints joined reworked denim pieces, reimagining classics such as the denim shirt with an elegant elongated fit. Overall, Lim created a chic homage to the Wild West.
