Brits First–David Gandy and Alexa Chung took part in a photo shoot yesterday, celebrating the start of London Collections: Men. Joined by Savile Row apprentice tailors, Gandy & Chung appeared at an open house event on the iconic street. Part of the GREAT campaign, increased exposure for the UK as a place to visit, study and invest is an aim as well as a celebration of British fashion talents. GREAT ambassadors include Victoria Beckham and designer Sir Paul Smith. Burberry creative chief office Christopher Bailey is also contributing to a fashion film for the campaign. Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Olympic, Media and Sport expressed, “Men’s fashion is a fantastic British success story – from the established houses of Saville Row such as Richard James, to new and emerging talents like James Long. This first-ever London Men’s Fashion Week will help to showcase the industry throughout London’s Olympic year and will show why Britain is such a fantastic place to visit, study and do business.”
