The Boston Blues–Nostalgia, heritage, college, Boston, and the Mod revival are just a few of the references that inspired the GANT by Michael Bastian collection for the fall/winter 2012 season titled, “Back to Boston.” Designer Michael Bastian revisits his time in college in Boston, the driving force behind his latest collection of modern American Sportswear. Sam Homan (Red) and Danny Beauchamp (Select Models) join Dace Burkevica to portray The Prep, The Mod Girl, and The Boxer, figures inspired by Bastian himself and the friendships he forged during his academic career. Photographer Oscar Falk captures the young, exuberant models in the streets of Boston sporting Mod patterns, warm knits, and preppy layers for a contemporary collegiate look with a nostalgic undertone.
