If you were looking to Dolce & Gabbana for a refreshing burst of color this season, you are to be disappointed. Instead of gravitating towards the obvious, the designing duo were once again inspired by the ideal Sicilian man. Focusing on the sartorial suit, the silhouette was kept classically chic, but made the duo’s own with extreme indulgent amounts of embellishment. This idea of glitz and sparkle made its way to simple tanks, tops and trousers. Not unexpected for Dolce & Gabbana, but a surprise for the collection were ripped jeans often paired over lounge pants. The spring 2010 collection once again proves that when it comes to Dolce & Gabbana, what you see is what you get – no recession will alter their aesthetic.
